I love all the wonderful shots of your gorgeous collies! I pray they are all still with you as I know the heart break that comes with old age in dogs. Love them all but I especially love your two sable merles! Beautiful and what great expressions! We got our first puppy after adopting several sheltie rescues 3 years ago. A wonderful white factored sable merle we named Murphy. This past December the breeder offered us his 8 yr old sable merle mother as she was retired from breeding. She was not a show quality collie but had perfect clear eyes and has such a great temperament. The breeder used her in her breeding program with one of her champions so she could pass on that great temperament! Since we still have a 12 yr old mahogany sable & white sheltie, we were hesitant to add a third dog to our home and decided to try her on a two week trial. Well, that was totally unnecessary since Murphy and his mother Pepper bonded completely within minutes! Our little sheltie Peanut remains the queen of the castle, or at least the collies let her believe she is. We have been completely won over by the collie breed, these couch potatoes of the herding group are the perfect breed in our opinion! There are so many things we love about them. Including their quirks! Love the collie singing they do to eachother and the chomp-chomping while playing! We have learned that having two dogs is like having two dogs but for some reason having three dogs is like having ten! LOL! I can't tell you how much laughter they have brought into our home. What lovers! I've really enjoyed all your collie pics! Comedian dogs, spectacular dogs, gloriously human dogs... Collies of every phase of heart and brain and soul... Among you, you have taught me more of true loyalty and patience and courtesy, and divine forgiveness and solid sanity and fun and a hundred other worth-while lessons than all the masters I have studied under.
