  • 2002-08-20-2 and 2002-08-20-month#3 pictures are wallpaper on my computer now. What beautiful photographs! Great job in the way you present your Betta Experiment album. Very helpful for those curious about the breeding habit of Bettas. Thank you! You're other albums are just as deserving as this one, please do more and keep up the good work!

  • Hi! This was probably one of the best illustrations to Betta breeding I have ver seen. You should write a book! Was just wondering how you feed your fry beef heart.

  • I just saw the experiment that you did with the bettas. I am trying to do something similar. I had a few questions. Would you mind telling me how it worked out. How long did it last? Was there any aggression after the 5 months? Jen (Bettagurl@comcast.net) My name on web shots is AquaticJen.

  • Hi! I'm also trying to do something similar with my bettas. Could you email me your procedure? I don't want to do anything wrong and have them hurt each other. And I wouldn't want the babies to die. (odarka50@hotmail.com) You are not only great with fish, you're also great with photography. Very beautiful!

  • Wonderful! I'm a painter and search webshots for painting ideas - your "Still in good shape" photo is fantastic and I'm so inspired to paint my version - thank you SO much for sharing. I had a fish tank, but illness forced me to give it away - so enjoy your fishies so much!

  • Loved your album. Fantastic photos. I have two male bettas (seperated of course). One is 5 years old, even though I've been told the max they reach in age is 3 years.

  • Mike: Great job on your Beta photo album. I breed them when I was a teenage, 35 years ago. Your did a marvelous job in depicting the full life cycle. AS of this writing I have 5 male Betas indoors. My "game" is now Japanese Koi, where I breed and keep in a 1600 gal pond in my Japanese garden. I breed them and give them away for fun. I am very happy to see that you are enjoy the hobby at its fullest. My email is edng2000@gmail.com. Feel free to send me an email and I will invite you to see my Koi fish collection (about 26 of them) via Webshot. Thanks again for a wonderful Beta fighting fish pictorial. Edward Ng

  • This was a very colorful and fun album, I enjoyed watching as the babies grew. The pictures were fantastic along with your comments! I have bred African Chiclids before but never Betts'a. I,like you, am crazy about African Chiclids. We had a brand new 50 gallon tank of A. chiclids and the tank cracked in a big curve from top to bottom while my daughter screamed a high pitched scream. We came running in and with two adults and two children working, we were able to remove all the rocks and plants out first, because that's where chiclids liked to go and hide, and then we were finally able to get the 23 chiclids out of the tank right before the water level went down to 3 inches! Talk about FRANTIC people rushing around finding enough big buckets for all the rocks. It was a miracle we found one bucket for the fish that was clean and ready for filling and then getting the chiclids in in time to save them. After all that, I had to mop and dry our hard wood living room floor before it became ruined, at least it was a step down living room so the water went no where else! We used to watch those chiclids for hours on end especially after dinnertime and before bedtime, they were so relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing the great photos of your babies and how to raise them! Best Wishes, Ginny

  • Thank you all for your nice comments, but tell me, did you found this album while searching for the signer Mika? If so, thanks to have stayed a few moments with me. BTW Mika is my dog my own albums are under Peg353 These pictures were taken a few years back and are on webshots as an offering of wallpapers as all my other albums. Permission is granted to use them as you like except for any commercial endeavour. I had only one aquarium to spare for this experiment. I breed African cichlids but my wife always wanted to know about bettas. When they got to be 5-6 months they all started to fight. The males were immediatly put in floating drinking glass until I gave them to my students so they could raise money for their photography exhibition. You should find more recent pictures of my fish on http://ovas.ca/index.php?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=14 under the user name of Pegasus. Meanwhile enjoy. Michel Lalonde
