Paul, this is another one of your great bird family photo shoots. The shots of the little ones with their mouths open are fantastic. I can't believe you had to take some of those shots using a mirror. This is a great insight into a tiny little world we never get to see much. Thanks for posting this fine album. Alan (Connecticut)

Tu as une sacrée patience, mon ami!

Merci Paul. Well it sure translated oddly when I ran it back through the other way, but you know my hearts in the right place. Thanks again for your kind comments in my album today. Alan

Luc

Hi Paul, Thank you very much for sharing these fantastic pictures of these cute little chicks. I am greatly impressed by your patience and persistence in following their hatching and development. As far as the parent birds are concerned this would be like being presented with a bouncing baby boy or girl, except that they have several all at once! Like having quintuplets! As far as the mother bird is concerned the act of laying the eggs will seem more like the birth process, the incubation period will be like pregnancy in humans - waiting and wondering what you are going to get - then the breaking of the shells will seem like the final stage of labour, when the baby is actually born. One thing is certain they expend all their time and energy on their young. This moment in their lives must be the avian equivalent of seeing them off to university in terms of parental satisfaction and achievement. If you have time take a look at my latest albums. I've been playing with my new toy (aka digital camera) quite a lot recently! Best wishes from England, Kathryn
