What are you doing with a cheetah? This seems like an unusual pet, or are you involved in the circus? Silly question, I know, but you've got to admit this is not the ordinary house cat. I'll bet it does keep the unwanted guests to a minimum. Fred in East Tennessee USA

This cheetah is like a dog really, just looks like a cat. We take him hunting hares but we also hunt with falcons. No guns. The only circus here are my photos.

Congratulations on your beautiful featured album. I love large cats and I love photographing them so keeping a cheetah around the house would certainly be fun and rewarding, but although I know that cheetahs are the most easily “domesticated” of the larger cats, I would still have some serious trepidations about keep one around the house. It certainly must keep prowlers away, but how do you go on vacation or even to the vet? Have fun and good luck. Greetings from Florida, Paul.

Looks like a beautiful and very well taken care of animal. It's important to emphasize, however, that these are difficult animals to keep as pets and that they are still wild even when they look so tame in the photos. I volunteer at an animal rescue facilty that is filled with animals that were given to us because they became unmanageable pets. They can be the most wonderful and loveable animals most of the time, but they also have their moments that make you remember just how powerful and wild they are. You can check out my albums for pics of these wonderful animals. You obviously do a great job of taking care of your cat and are the exception and not the rule with regards to this. Great photos! :)

First I would like to say, I LOVE your pictures! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Cheetah! I think that it is awesome for you to have such a wonderful animal! The Cheetah is my very favorite of animals. I would love to have one, but...I live on the third floor of an apartment building, and, I don't think it's legal here in our state. I am soooo in agreement with jfreed111 about begonia 119 and peacelady. In my opinion, if you have something negative to say about someones photos, keep it to yourself!! It also shows just how much they know about "Big Cats". The Cheetah is by far the most calm and least vicious of all "Big Cats". As a matter of fact, unfortunately they are hunted by the larger cats, so, you keep up with your man, and have a great time with him. I also believe that if he were to turn vicious, it would have happened a long time ago, 8 years with a Cheetah, you're doing fine. I am soooo jealous! If you ever have a chance, watch the movie "Duma" it is absolutely wonderful how he was such a wonderful pet for the boy. You take good care, and enjoy ALL of your beloved pets, you are a very caring and loving person to have as many pets as you have, and they don'r post evil messages on your profile!!! Dianna, Johnstown, PA

I'm wondering the same thing - where are you aloud to have an exotic wild animal like thisin a house? Predatory animals who cannot be returned to the wild are usually best in a large sanctuary, not in a human home. I'm sure you love this cat, but I can't think this is best for him/her.

Thanks again for sharing your cheetach pics. I just had to look at them again today and found your tip on the tin foil. I have had 8 cats over the years and the last one I rescued from being sent to a shelter, is the first to decide to ruin one side of my sofa even tho I have scratching posts etc. I'll try the foil.. And try to ignore the nasty comments. Looks like a very happy animal to me even tho I firmly believe that owning a large cat for a pet is definitely not for everyone.

To the owner of the Cheetah...the photos are cute, but Cheetah's are wild animals and should be treated with dignity and allowed to live wild. Dressing them up in hats and sunglasses is not respectful. Do the authorities in your town know you are harboring a wild animal?

Wow Siw! I have just discovered your beautiful Chetah in your albums! I can understand somebody's reaction but I have friends in South Africa that keep and grow Chetahs without problems. Obviously you must give them enough freedom to run in the wild, but this seems to be your case too. Some risk is always present with wild animals, but I think your beloved one is more than accustomed to his (or her) life in such a nice setting! I'm glad you appreciated my Dolomites pics! They are just 100 kms North of Venice, so ... when you are there to shoot (photographically, I mean) the city cats along the canals, you could also make a little detour! Ciao from Torino. Roberto
