The birds are lovely. I'm from Malaysia and you've brought the birds all the way to where I live. Thanks for that! - Alice Teh (www.snipurl.com/aliceteh )

Hi Bernard: These first views, of excellent quality, are promising: soon (?) we shall have a nearly complete inventory of free-living NZ birds? But we know from experience that, besides some exceptions, you need an immense lot of patience telling the stars to keep quiet! - Thank you for yesterday's GE entry. What a pity for all that beauty lost! - Best wishes: Käthi and Henri

Hi Bernard, great shots! You must have a very good camera. These pictures are so clear and so beautiful. I was looking at what you called, i think the Bush Robin. They are very plain looking next to the Robins with the lovely red breast like we have in our yard.Very nice to see different kinds of birds. Thank you for sharing them...Claudette

HI Bernard, these are really great images.. I know because I have tried to take bird shots and the darn things do not sit still and smile on request. I have just posted some flying duck shots in my pond album and thought I had done well and then saw these ... and you know the names too .. i just love the Bush Robin. I have not seen one, it is amazing how we have different birds but the ones we think are common here are thought so different by Others.. ho hum ..I am rambling now... regards Poppy

Kia Ora, Bernard. I just noticed your beautiful new album. I'm with Poppy1812, I cannot get a decent bird shot for the life of me, don't have that much patience. The swamp hen is so gorgeous! It is almost like the swamp bird I kinda managed to get on film in my aligator album. So I hope all's well in your corner of the world, cowgirl hugs, Marita

I love your birds, Bernard. Most of them we don't have in the Netherlands. Our birds mostly have camouflage colours with a little red or yellow. Not so exuberant as your birds. Groeten, Mieke

Hi! These fantails and bushrobins and pukakos are very nice. Difficult to photograph with my humble camera. And these are different from the birds we have got. Fantail looks like our wagtail a bit. Greetings from Finland, Merike

Hi Bernard, though still small, this is a very nice collection of birds. I particularly like your “Kea. Alpine parrot. “. It is an absolute winner. The color, the reflection, and lighting are just great! I found your “Pukako. Swamp hen.” to be incredible similar to our own Common Moorhen and Purple Gallinule, which is surprising for birds that are so far apart and that rarely fly for more than just a few feet. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your kind words on my Illusions album. I remember the “oldin times” very well. The “digital darkroom” is much more convenient, much better lit and a lot less smelly than its forefathers. It is also a lot easier and more available for the average photographer.

Hi Bernard I have just viewed a slide show of this album. This is fantastic. One of my favorite things to do on trips is to photograph birds. I have them scattered all over my albums. maybe I should make a "bird album" Regards Nurit
