There is a special place in heaven for kind people like you and your wife. It was a bittersweet story, but with a happy ending. I love cats, too. I have two of my own and visit the cats in the local animal shelter. It's all I can do not to bring more of them home. At least it's a "no-kill" shelter. You two surely are my kind of people. I once kept a vet from putting a kitten (one of a litter of five) to sleep because he thought she had inner ear damage. I chose to give her antibiotics and hold a heating pad on her ear for days. When I took her back he said he wouldn't have believed it. Didn't keep using that guy. She grew up to be a beautiful healthy kitty that we gave to some very good friends. My Nikki that I have now was a rescue where someone dumped out a litter at a gas station and he was the only one left and we were the lucky ones to catch him. You did a wonderful thing and she is beautiful.

Malcolm, I'm so glad you were able to save this precious angel. She was sent to look after you. My most recent fur child was rescued from death row at the vets office where he was to be put to sleep - until he wrapped his arms around my ankle & I had to save him. Nearly all the animals I have ever had were rescued in some way or another. I think they make the best pets. Hugs - Pat

Oscar's story isn't as gut wrenching, but he and his siblings were left in a box on the street and lucky for them the Feral Cat Foundation took them in. Thank heavens you saved this gorgeous baby girl from a terrible fate. I had one who looked so much like her, who was abandoned, she could have been Suki's sister, they look so much alike... Hi Malcolm. My beautiful dog Flash (who lived with Sheba and me for 14 wonderful years) was also chucked into a Dustbin (full of water!), in a toilet block at one of our popular beaches. Luckily it was just at the right moment that a beachgoer went into the block, heard puppies crying, and the rest is history! About 8 puppies were rescued, and the would-be murderer was successfully prosecuted and fined. Not aa severe enough punishment, methinks! cheers Margaret downunder.
