  • I really enjoyed your album on your sweet, darling Bichons. They are the most delightful breed I have ever had the pleasure to come across. We had ours for 16 years and she was the love of our life, but she went over the rainbow bridge on Friday the 13th - July/07. It has left a hugh hole in in my heart that will never again be filled. If anyone is considering a dog as a pet, they can't go wrong with a Bichon. They are happy, carefree, loyal, patient, loveable little dogs who love children or grandchildren. Our Bacca did not know how to growl. She was such a sweet-natured dog. That was so important to us when we researched the breed because we had a previous bad experience with a schtz-poo cross who we did not get from a reputable breeder. Boy we learned our lesson. From the very beginning she was a one person dog and was attached to me because I was home with her all day while the kids went to school. She would lay on my bed and growl and snarl if anyone came near me. She bit my sons friend's lip tearing a hugh gash in it. Another day, we were on the back deck and a 5 year old girl from across the street came out on the deck to play with our daughters. The dog snarled and dove right for her ankles to try to bite them. Luckily we were able grab her before any damage was done. We worked with our vet and a trainer to try to curb this problem because around me she was the sweetest little thing, but it was like living with a time bomb. Eventually our only option was euthanasia which we did not want to do but we had to put the safety of our children and the children who came into our house, first. The vet said the situation with the dog was only going to get worse as she got older. That she did have a personality disorder, probably caused by bad breeding. So be warned out there everyone. STAY AWAY FROM PET STORE AND PUPPY MILLS.
