Hello Poppy, thanks for writing about my album, I followed your advice about my first photo, Thanks. Webshots messed up and featured my album earlier than it was scheduled, by mistake, somebody deleted an album and the computer pulled mine, so when they found out they retired my album, I don't think is fair, but I don't know if they are going to re-feature it. Anyway, your photos are very good, I like the IMG_7248a, great sharpness and good composition. Also I love all your Dahlias, IMG_0211 very nice. Is That your garden? Beautiful. You mentioned that you have a Canon 350D, I just got this camera, I have a regular Digital Rebel also that I used for most of my bird shots in my albums, with a Canon 70-300mm and a Sigma 170-500mm lens. If you are going to buy a lens try to buy a Canon with The Image Stabilizer feature(IS) they are more expensive but for what I see they are worth it. Camera shake can be a problem with the Rebels, and when shooting birds in the wild is difficult to use a tripod. If you send me your e-mail we can converse a little more about this. God Bless, Gualberto.

Hello Poppy, the bird you like is a Black Hawk-Eagle, a magnifecent bird, this one is an Juvenile. It belongs to a friend that recued it when he was a little chick from some people that had him in bad conditions. That is way I could get so close to him and the reflection in the eye is me taking the photo. So there I just gave a photo secret away, he,he..

Hi Poppy, thank you for your very kind words about my album First Photos with My New Camera. I loved to see this album about ducks ( I love ducks!), the photos are great, full of movement and grace. About what you have said about my camera, well it is much better than the previous I had, but the zoom is only 7.1. I don't think I can do big deal with birds, unless they are really big, lol! But next time I try to photograph the birds in my yard I'm going to try the option target in movement... maybe it helps. Please, don't pay attention to my english! Best regards, Rosa

Hello Susan! Wow, wonderful action captures that aren't easy to achieve, but you've done very well capturing these beautiful duck movements!! Got to love the XT, loaded with all the features you might need (and speed)!! Thanks for sharing! I see Many More Awesome collections that'll take time to Visit!! Susan, I'm honored you have me as a FM and really appreciate your kind comments in my GOM Marine life collection!! Yes, I was 40' up on a platform capturing six-pack and all the roosting pelicans!! The 1st 32 images were from my trusted Canon Pro90IS and the last 28 with the DRebel(orginal) + the 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS lens!! At 400mm, the Image Stabalization saves the day, every time (I'm not very good with handheld shots)!! I now have the 30D and need to get out and really put it to the test, have a lot more to learn and practice!! Hope your Winter goes well my friend, Take Care! GB, Ted

Hello Susan my friend. Thanks for your nice comment in my last albom" Apolonia/Arsuf". As I 'm an otodidact, I am reading all the magazins to find out what lenss is good for me. I got my new Canon camera with 18-55 lens, that is not enough for my long range shoting ambition. Canon lenss costs a fortune, and I'm thinking on buying the Sigma ones, that are they say very good and with logic price. Do you have any idea what will be the best lenss size for me without robbing a bank? I will appreciate your opinion. RAN
