Awww. I use to have 3 bassett hound puppies myself. They are the best little dog you can get for kids. I wish that I still had them. Very cute pictures.

Thanks for sharing. I just might have to find me another bassett - years ago we adopted a mommie and temporarily her 5 puppies that had been dumped along side the highway in front of our house - Ashley was a very confused mommie but we found good homes for her puppies and loved her lots for the next 11 years when she went to doggie heaven. 7 years ago Petunia joined our family - her lower back and legs were deformed but she led a good life and we loved her till the end - so now getting the urge to again love a basset that might need a good home and lots of loving. thanks for making my day

Elmer sure is a sweet basset hound. When my son was just learning to walk our basset would stay by his side and let my son hang on her as he walked. They are a wonderful family dog. Beautiful pictures of Elmer! Thanks so much for sharing and bringing back old memories. Max/Michigan
