Hi, pbeitschat. You left a message on my guestbook saying that you thought that the photographs were offensive. I just wanted to let you know that the photographs are not at all meant to offend. I'm a veterinary medicine student. These dogs are not pets, they are greyhounds whose owners have elected to have put down after being unsuccessful in the racing industry (which I do not support). The photos are on Webshots only as a means of sharing them with my other group members, since we have only one digital camera between the four of us, and we see each other only once a week for the most part, and for any other students doing animal-related studies who might find them useful. I believe that the title of the photo albums speak for themselves, and I don't force anyone to view these photographs. Cheers.

pbeitschat -- With regard to your second post on my guestbook, I think that parents should monitor what their children view on the Internet. I don't think the greyhound dissection photographs are unsuitable for kids to view because the bodies were preserved and there is minimal blood. The cadavers are mostly dry throughout the dissections, and we only have the occasional fluid leakage, which is usually not photographed. Everything is clean and we try to be as professional and scientific as possible. I also believe that a great majority of children or teenagers surfing the Internet would have an understanding of the definition of "dissection& quot;. Besides, underage viewing of the photographs really isn't the issue here. If you can recommend a cost-free alternative to Webshots (or any other photo hosting websites, for that matter), I'd be more than willing to listen to your suggestion(s).
