I love your birds and look at your home site and web shots site often! I had a Budgie (Grokey) and a Cockatiel Sparkie when I was young, after my beloved bird Sparkie went to birdy heaven after only 12 years old; I got Chickadee and Ducky my sweet little cuddle bugs. I got very sick in 2003, after my wedding in June; I went up north for a few days and unfortunately contracted a virus (yet to be determined) that almost cost me my life. I was bitten by a few mosquitoes (32 bites to be correct) and my brain swelled and I got very sick, so sick that I had major seizures, had to be put on life support including a tracheotomy. I was in a coma for 2 weeks, then in Intensive care for 1 month and hospitalized for 2 more months. Finally I was transferred to a rehab centre for 6 weeks for fine-tuning. I am feeling great now and am almost back to normal. Just a few seizures and little bit more of the fine-tuning and they say I will be 100%. My girls Ducky and Chickadee are doing great, my hubby took very good care of them. Actually he spoiled them rotten. He loves them!!!!! I lost 2 years of my memory my wedding and the Birds, They are such good therapy to me! Your Pied resembles my Pearl very much. Thank You so much for being some of the patient people who raise hand fed babies. I'm on my 5th (Buddy) who is now 1 1/2 yrs. I am so confused!! I have five cockatiels and I do not know there sex!! Three of them sing. I have three pied cockatiels and two normal grays. They told me to check them by their little bone they have on the bottom of their body. If they are closed supposably they are males but if they are open they are females because it is the passage of the eggs but I don't know. Please help !!!!!! I want to know what sex they really are!!!!

Absolutely loved your site....and will visit again. We have an adorable hand-raised male cockatiel named 'Tealy'. He is just over 1 year old, very affectionate and loves to have a good cuddle. (Especially a neck and head rub!) He is very inquisitive and spends more time exploring the house and all its nooks and crannies, than he does in his cage! He's 'our baby' and we love him to bits.

I certainly enjoyed your albums! Thank you for sharing! I currently have around 700 pet birds. Most are hand-raised from hatch. I'm an exotic bird breeder who has retired from breeding. I owned a bird shop and also sold baby birds to pet stores. If the right breeder comes along I might be willing to sell or trade some of my birds. We also have lots of dogs, cats, chickens, and a couple of huge Iguana lizards that add to funny farm. Being such an animal and bird lover I always enjoy seeing other people's pictures.
